Traditions

Did you ever do a page that just did not turn out the way you pictured in your head-that would be this layout for me. I messed with it so much that I am tired of looking at it, plus I wanted to get it turned in for the 10th day of Christmas challenge at frosted designs, which is include 10 buttons.

The pictures are of my son helping me put up the Christmas village, and true to his nature he added his own touch- hot wheel cars. He informed me that the village needed police cars, fire trucks and taxis. I think we even had to guys racing cars down the hill. What a fun Christmas!

Deck the Halls

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We had some bad weather that delayed some of the celebrations, but that actually made it a less hectic, more enjoyable holiday season. Because my son's birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas and we were having a house full of 4 & 5 year olds for a party we didn't get to decorate the tree until a week before Christmas. Everyone pitched in and helped, Emert was even under the tree checking to see how the lights looked from that angle.

I cut the title and bird from the cricut cartridge 3 birds on parade, and the tree from the trim the tree cartridge. I stickled the title and the lights the bird is holding, the ornaments on the tree are Jolees.

Frosty & Reindeer crossing

Hope everyone is ready for the big day. My friends say I am one of the annoying people that have everything done a week early, to me it just makes the season enjoyable to be stress free and have time to spend with my family and even sneak in some scrapping. These are pictures of Emert and Caden. After we went on our Christmas train ride Rudolf and Frosty were standing outside the train station. What a fun end to a great day!

The paper, brads and trim are from MME. I bought myself the new teddy bear cricut cartridge when Walmart had it on sale online, and was excited to use it. The titles were cut from the winter frolic cartridge.

Merry Christmas everyone! I made this layout yesterday of our official Christmas card. The paper is from MME and the silver snowflakes were cut with the cricut cartridge a child's life. The white snowflakes are wooded, I painted them white and glittered them. The stamp says"from our family to yours" and is from MCT

Polar Express

My son has so many toys I no longer have a dining room but a playroom instead. So this year for Christmas I suggested taking him to do something instead of buying more toys. So my sister bought him a ticket to ride the Western Maryland Railroad, which has a special Christmas trip that included a yummy meal on the way down and fantastic dessert for the return trip and a visit with Santa. The only thing I had to bring myself was hot chocolate, because Emert reminded me that the polar express serves the best hot chocolate. My Mom, Dad and nephew went with us too-it really was a great day for the boys.

I had so many pictures from this trip that I had to do a double layout. Everything in the layout is from MME, except the snowflakes which were wooded and I painted and glittered them. This was my first time using washi tape, and I really liked how easy it was and how cute it looked on the page. The title was cut using my cricut.

Believe in Santa

My little guy turned 5 on Tuesday. He was sure that he was going to Kindergarten the next day, and that the legal driving age in PA is 5 so he would just drive himself to school. What a fun age!

We went to the mall last week and I was shocked when he said that he wanted to get in line to sit on Santa's lap, he wouldn't even walk past where he was sitting last year, we had to skip the stores that were on the other side of Santa. They had a staged picture of Emert and Santa looking at the camera, but I just loved this one of them talking to each other. I thought it really captured the magic of believing in Santa, totally unplanned his shirt has a Santa hat that says believe.

The paper is from Reminisce, except a couple of circles and stars were MME. The stamps are all from MCT, the one on the bottom says," If only time could stand still" and the circles say "ho ho ho" and "98% nice 2% naughty" which is my son!

Just Chillin'

We had another white Halloween this year, these are pictures of my son making a snowman in October. The title is a cut using the cricut cartridge a child's year and create a critter, I used liquid applique, stickels and pom poms to dress it up. The little boy with the snowman is cut with the cricut cartridge snow day and stamped with PKF, it also has stickles and a red pom pom. I used a stamp from MCT under the photos that says "snowman fall from heaven unassembled"

I am entering the following challenges:

Chip off the Old Block

Today is a wet and dreary day in PA, a great day to be inside and hang out in the scrap room. The other day while I was at work Emert and Mike spent the day in the woods cutting firewood. Emert was very proud of his contributions.

The title was cutting from the cricut craft room. The paper is all from Core'dinations, which I sanded embossed and chalked. The brown leather, buttons and bling were just in my stash. Yes I put bling on a layout about cutting firewood!

Let's take a ride

Happy December 1st! We went last night and had Christmas pictures taken and Emert got to sit on Santa's lap-which was a first. He will be 5 soon and this is the best age for Christmas. We are doing elf on the shelf, learning Christmas songs and he is even into decorating.

This layout is the giant slide that was at the corn maze we went to in October. The boys had to carry the sled back up the hill, which you can see from the last picture was a really long walk, but they did it twice and loved it! The teenager even went down it!

All the paper is from Core'dinations. I sanded the orange words, laughter, play, adventurous and spontaneous and then chalked them yellow. I also distressed the edges of the tan paper and sanded the dots and chalked them using blue and yellow. I  used colored burlap behind the photos and used glitter paint on the green kraft paper.

I am entering this in the recipe challenge from the core'dinations blog

and used this sketch from pagemaps:
