Traditions

Did you ever do a page that just did not turn out the way you pictured in your head-that would be this layout for me. I messed with it so much that I am tired of looking at it, plus I wanted to get it turned in for the 10th day of Christmas challenge at frosted designs, which is include 10 buttons.

The pictures are of my son helping me put up the Christmas village, and true to his nature he added his own touch- hot wheel cars. He informed me that the village needed police cars, fire trucks and taxis. I think we even had to guys racing cars down the hill. What a fun Christmas!

Deck the Halls

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We had some bad weather that delayed some of the celebrations, but that actually made it a less hectic, more enjoyable holiday season. Because my son's birthday is 2 weeks before Christmas and we were having a house full of 4 & 5 year olds for a party we didn't get to decorate the tree until a week before Christmas. Everyone pitched in and helped, Emert was even under the tree checking to see how the lights looked from that angle.

I cut the title and bird from the cricut cartridge 3 birds on parade, and the tree from the trim the tree cartridge. I stickled the title and the lights the bird is holding, the ornaments on the tree are Jolees.

Frosty & Reindeer crossing

Hope everyone is ready for the big day. My friends say I am one of the annoying people that have everything done a week early, to me it just makes the season enjoyable to be stress free and have time to spend with my family and even sneak in some scrapping. These are pictures of Emert and Caden. After we went on our Christmas train ride Rudolf and Frosty were standing outside the train station. What a fun end to a great day!

The paper, brads and trim are from MME. I bought myself the new teddy bear cricut cartridge when Walmart had it on sale online, and was excited to use it. The titles were cut from the winter frolic cartridge.

Merry Christmas everyone! I made this layout yesterday of our official Christmas card. The paper is from MME and the silver snowflakes were cut with the cricut cartridge a child's life. The white snowflakes are wooded, I painted them white and glittered them. The stamp says"from our family to yours" and is from MCT

Polar Express

My son has so many toys I no longer have a dining room but a playroom instead. So this year for Christmas I suggested taking him to do something instead of buying more toys. So my sister bought him a ticket to ride the Western Maryland Railroad, which has a special Christmas trip that included a yummy meal on the way down and fantastic dessert for the return trip and a visit with Santa. The only thing I had to bring myself was hot chocolate, because Emert reminded me that the polar express serves the best hot chocolate. My Mom, Dad and nephew went with us too-it really was a great day for the boys.

I had so many pictures from this trip that I had to do a double layout. Everything in the layout is from MME, except the snowflakes which were wooded and I painted and glittered them. This was my first time using washi tape, and I really liked how easy it was and how cute it looked on the page. The title was cut using my cricut.

Believe in Santa

My little guy turned 5 on Tuesday. He was sure that he was going to Kindergarten the next day, and that the legal driving age in PA is 5 so he would just drive himself to school. What a fun age!

We went to the mall last week and I was shocked when he said that he wanted to get in line to sit on Santa's lap, he wouldn't even walk past where he was sitting last year, we had to skip the stores that were on the other side of Santa. They had a staged picture of Emert and Santa looking at the camera, but I just loved this one of them talking to each other. I thought it really captured the magic of believing in Santa, totally unplanned his shirt has a Santa hat that says believe.

The paper is from Reminisce, except a couple of circles and stars were MME. The stamps are all from MCT, the one on the bottom says," If only time could stand still" and the circles say "ho ho ho" and "98% nice 2% naughty" which is my son!

Just Chillin'

We had another white Halloween this year, these are pictures of my son making a snowman in October. The title is a cut using the cricut cartridge a child's year and create a critter, I used liquid applique, stickels and pom poms to dress it up. The little boy with the snowman is cut with the cricut cartridge snow day and stamped with PKF, it also has stickles and a red pom pom. I used a stamp from MCT under the photos that says "snowman fall from heaven unassembled"

Chip off the Old Block

Today is a wet and dreary day in PA, a great day to be inside and hang out in the scrap room. The other day while I was at work Emert and Mike spent the day in the woods cutting firewood. Emert was very proud of his contributions.

The title was cutting from the cricut craft room. The paper is all from Core'dinations, which I sanded embossed and chalked. The brown leather, buttons and bling were just in my stash. Yes I put bling on a layout about cutting firewood!

Let's take a ride

Happy December 1st! We went last night and had Christmas pictures taken and Emert got to sit on Santa's lap-which was a first. He will be 5 soon and this is the best age for Christmas. We are doing elf on the shelf, learning Christmas songs and he is even into decorating.

This layout is the giant slide that was at the corn maze we went to in October. The boys had to carry the sled back up the hill, which you can see from the last picture was a really long walk, but they did it twice and loved it! The teenager even went down it!

All the paper is from Core'dinations. I sanded the orange words, laughter, play, adventurous and spontaneous and then chalked them yellow. I also distressed the edges of the tan paper and sanded the dots and chalked them using blue and yellow. I  used colored burlap behind the photos and used glitter paint on the green kraft paper.

I am entering this in the recipe challenge from the core'dinations blog

Pilgrim and Indian

Wow where did the weekend go? I can't complain because it is a short work week! Last year at daycare Emert couldn't decide if he wanted to be a pilgrim or an Indian so he made both hats and wore them proudly! The paper and title is from Imaginisce and the pilgrim and Indian were cut on my cricut using paper doll dress up, their faces are from Peachy Keen.

Thanks for coming to check out my blog! Sorry the picture quality is so bad but it was dark when I took the picture. These are pictures of my son taking a walk in the woods behind our house-he is such a ham! The title was cut with the cricut cartridge 3 birds on parade, then embossed with the cuttlebug folder devine and chalked. The paper is all from imaginisce and the I love fall tag. The saying on the tag is from pink by design. The flower tag was cut and stamped with My Creative Time. The blue is a MS punch. The rest is just from my stash.

Serve and Protect

Hope everyone on the East coast is safe and finding shelter. School was left out early today and is cancelled already for tomorrow. We have high winds and a snow storm right now-good time to do some scraping!

Emert was a policeman for Halloween this year, these are pictures from trick or treat this weekend. The top tag and the stamp are from my creative time and the paper is from Imaginisce. The background paper and Halloween sticker are from MME.  I cut the policeman with the cricut cartridge everyday paper dolls and used a peachy keen stamp for the face. The title was from give a hoot and originally said preserve and protect, I just eliminated the pre and made it serve and protect-which I thought was perfect for these pictures! I used MCT stamp and glitter to emboss the orange in the title to match the embossing and glitter on the page.

treats for my sweet

Happy Halloween! We had trick or treat last night and my son loved it! We walked around for two hours until he finally decided he was finished. Before trick or treating began we made these treat holders for his daycare party, it was a great distraction from the how much longer until trick or treat question he was asking every 5 minutes. They are sippy cups that are orange with a green top that just screamed jack-o-lantern. I cut the black vinyl out with my cricut using the pumpkin carving cartridge. Then Emert helped me use the cuttlebug to cut out the leaves and tag and he helped stamp them and put on the glue for the leaves. The die cuts and stamps are all from my creative time.

I am entering this into the FCCB challenge which is use black and orange to make a Halloween project.
Also the pause dream enjoy challenge which is make a CANDY-licious project.

My Pumpkin

Happy Monday everyone! It is time to carve pumpkins again and I decided I better scrap last year's photos. Boy how kids change in one year, Emert looks so grown up compared to these pictures. It goes too fast!!!

All the paper and embellishments are from quick quotes, except the solid colors which were from my stash. The title is cut from the cricut cartridge mini monsters, and I am not sure where the jack-o-lantern brad is from. The pumpkin and bat on the banner are from the Elmo seasons cartridge and the little boy is from everyday paper dolls. The cute little boy face is from peachy keen stamps. Emert said the little boy isn't him it's Daddy because he was wearing the blue shirt, can't argue with that logic!

Pick of the Patch

I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had blue skies and got to decorate for Halloween inside and out. Emert is at such a fun age that he gets so excited and loves to help decorate. Last weekend we had my nephew Caden staying with us and even though the weather was cooler and had been raining that morning the boys wanted to go outside. So we packed up the 4 year olds and the teenager and went to the local corn maze which had this pumpkin patch. The kids each got to pick one-and had a blast!

The paper and embellishments are from Imaginisce, except the dark blue and orange which was in my stash. The large pumpkin was cut from the speaking of fall cricut cartridge and embossed using devine folder, it was then sanded and inked. The flourishes were cut from the Thanksgiving cartridge and the title was cut using the mini monsters cartridge. The stamps were from pink by design, the saying is " I searched high and low until I found a pumpkin as great as you" the original saying was friend and I replaced it with pumpkin.
The pumpkin in the title was originally on the purple circle. I thought it looked cute in the title and used the circle behind the other sticker. Which I stamped Happy Fall on-another part of a pink by design stamp. Thanks for checking out my blog. I am entering this in the following challenges:

Imiginisce- use the following color combo:

The paper is all creative memories and all the stamps are from my creative time. I cut the title with the cricut, but I can not remember which cartridge. The spider was a brad I had in my stash and I added some google eyes on him.

Over What Hill

Yes this year I celebrated my 40th birthday! It was very strange scrapping a page about myself. All the cuts were done with the cricut cartridge life's a party. The original saying is over the hill-but I'm not that old, so I changed it to over what hill. I am entering this in the birthday challenge at Fabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.

Bearing gifts

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I found the basic grey blog and noticed they were having a challenge and decided to play along. All the paper and embellishments are basicgrey, the title was cut with my cricut using the winter frolic cartridge. Thanks for stopping by! Here is the sketch:

Lazy Summer Day

Hi everyone! I snapped this photo of my 2 kids sleeping on the couch this summer-one of the few times they were picking on each other. My daughter has this beautiful quilt that has triangle patterns and I thought that would be a great idea for my layout. I used a square punch and then embossed each color with a different design. Then I inked them with a matching monochromatic color and cut them diagonally. The title is cut with the cricut cartridge summer celebration. The stamped sentiment is from  Pink by Design.

I am entering it in the following challenges:

This is a layout of Emert's first day back to Valeries where he goes to daycare/pre-school. I can't believe next year is Kindergarten! The title was cut on the cricut using the speaking of school cartridge. I made the pocket with a pair of my husbands old jeans and the die from MCT, the sentiment is from MCT too. The little patch was stamped on with a pink by design stamp. The tag base is from MME. I entering it in the following challenges:

Just the Boys

Hi everyone-I know it has been a while since I posted. Last week my sister took me to Vegas for my birthday-which was a blast. The only problem was as I was boarding the plane they said there was no more room for carry-ons so mine would have to be checked. What are you to do as you are boarding the plane. Long story short my carry on arrived in Pittsburgh but my camera which was in the top portion of my carry on didn't make it. So I lost all my Vegas pictures and am very upset that my camera was taken! But the siler lining is I bought a new camera today and love it!

My layout is of my son and nephew who love each other as much as the like driving around my yard. Everything is from my Minds Eye. The 4-wheeler was cut using the camp out cricut cartridge, and the truck with the heritage cartridge.

Back to School

Hello blogger friends! We have put a whole week of school in and are back in a routine-homework and all! This is Cassandra's first day of school picture-for some reason this year all the girls wanted to dress up, which was a nice change from jeans and t-shirts. I made the mini Cassandra using paper doll teen cricut cartridge. To dress it up I embossed and chalked her hair, and I embossed her dress and used ribbon to match her perfect-she thought that was pretty cool. I used peechy keen stamps for her face and had her holding some notebooks. I used the CCR for the first time and cut the 8th grade banner. There are a lot of great challenges this week and I am entering it in the following if you would like to play along:
